(Column) Sharing Economy

One of the recent hot topic “Shareing Economy.” AirBnB, Uber are great example of sharing economy. People are more and more concerning “not having but sharing” life style. however, there are also some controversial matters.　Regal issue, fraud, argument, etc.

In my Opinion, Sharing Economy is based on trustworthy and honesty. If human being is naturally honest, sharing economy is right to penetrate into culture.

I have still skeptical about that.

There are huge information asymmetry even IT is highly developed. It may cause Lemon market and accelerate bad money drives out good money.

Sharing economy seems to be OK so far. Nontheless to say, it may elaborate these problem when sharing economy expanding globally.

私の考えではシェアリングエコノミーは性善説に則って成り立っていると思われます。

しかし、ほんとうに性善説のみでかたづくのか疑問が残ります。

いくらIT技術が発達したとはいえそこには大きな情報の非対称性があり、レモン市場になる可能性がります。それが加速すれば、「悪貨は良貨を駆逐する」となり、市場からよいプレイヤーがいなくなってしまう可能性があります。

現状、シェアリングエコノミーは一定の成功を見せ、どんどんと成長していますが、これが全世界的に広がっていくときには、このような問題が表面化するのではないと注視したい思います。
